Hi! I’m Catherine – a mother of seven children and happily married for 31 years. I love giving back to the community and am an active volunteer at church, Cub Scouts and the local high school drama and choral programs.

My experience in home and interior design was driven by necessity. The most cost effective way to design, build and style our own home was for my husband and me to do it ourselves. I was blessed with a handy husband! Over the years my style developed – an eclectic preference inspired by the space itself. First and foremost, I look to enhance the function of a room by creatively putting every nook and cranny to work. A room with purpose is one that will be enjoyed the most. Through the use of effectively designed built-ins and strategically placed furniture, one can make any space, regardless of the size, useful.

Secondary to the space is what goes in it. Decor and accessories should work with the room to enhance the enjoyment of the space. No matter how functional a room is, it won’t be enjoyed as much as it should be if it’s not a pleasant room to be in.  I’m inspired by objects and refinish or repurpose them to work in the space. I enjoy combining different, yet complementary styles to provide visual interest. But, how you decorate a room should not be based solely on the looks. Find objects with meaning to incorporate into the decor.
